Panama Tattoo Ideas: Commemorate Your Journey — The Lost and Found Jungle Hostel

A common theme among homeless people these days is getting commemorative tattoos of different places in the world they’ve traveled to. everyone who has ever been on a trip wants to take some part of their trip home with them so they can remember the fond memories they associate with that trip, and what better way to do that than with body art? Many of my friends with tattoos often tell me that their favorite tattoos are the ones they got while traveling the world. they remind them of the times when they traveled, felt free and discovered new things every day. and tattoos, just like any other form of art, are a way of telling our stories to others. however, it is often difficult to capture the magic of an entire journey through a foreign country in a single image. So how do you choose the right tattoo to represent your journey?

for the last few months, i have been traveling around panama. while volunteering at the lost property shelter in the mountains of chiriqui province, i met another volunteer (who has since become a good friend of mine) who wants to get a tattoo in panama to commemorate his trip. but he can’t decide what it should be. After brainstorming for quite some time on what would be a good tattoo that would be unique to Panama, we came up with a few ideas. And while this article focuses primarily on Panama-related tattoos, it will also relate to anyone interested in getting ink to commemorate their travels. So, here are some ideas of tattoos for travelers in Panama and some ways to choose your perfect travel tattoo:

Tattoos can be anything you want them to be and at the end of the day, it’s your body and you should get whatever tattoo makes you happy. Most people who get tattooed while traveling are looking to capture the magic of their journey in some kind of image that brings back to them all the amazing experiences they had during their journey. So when it comes to getting a Panama tattoo, you need to think about what really caught your eye in this beautiful country. what did you find unique in panama? what was the most memorable part of your trip to panama? what about your journey that you want to show the world through your body art? Common Panamanian phrases, unique Panamanian landscapes, and native Panamanian animals are always good places to start. For example, the hostel that my friend and I have volunteered at has a wonderful view of Volcano Baru (the largest volcano in Panama), so he wants to incorporate this landscape into his tattoo in some way. in the future, once you leave this place, you will be able to look at your tattoo and remember all the good times you had looking at this landscape. Not to mention having a volcano tattoo is pretty cool.
